The Pontikis residence in Cyprus was remodeled in 2005.
The living room, dining room, and kitchen were opened towards the open space
facing south-west and a covered verandah was added. Trees were planted at the
perimeter of the garden to provide the necessary privacy. Local landscaping such
as olive trees, orange trees, pomegranate trees, almond trees, fig trees, and
date-palm trees were planted. Local colorful and fragrant plants such as
bougainvilleas and jasmine were also planted. The verandah was used for intimate
gatherings and also for lively parties by the family all year round. |
